Maker Geeks is very pleased to present our newest 3D printing offering of “Maker Filament®” our own in house PLA and ABS filament; MakerGeeks is the first and only large scale US manufacture for ABS and PLA filament for 3D printing; while there are a few other USA extruder of filament they only operate in very small and expensive batches. Here at MakerGeeks.com we have the only large scale, high-speed, high-tolerance extruder on US soil and it's our goal to remove the need to order ABS/ PLA filament from China (about 99.9% of all filament starts its life in China; even the really good stuff!) and to be the first and ONLY large scale producer of ABS/PLA Filament here in the USA. By doing this we'll be able to offer you a filament that is far superior to what's out there already for about 50% the price of traditional filament. 
We are makers just like you and we 3D print A LOT here at the shop, well north of 100,000 printing hours every year... so we know things that work and things that don't work and we can adjust our manufacturing in real time to make sure that our Maker Filament® is of the utmost quality, design, color and usability. We test each batch on a variety of 3D printers, hotends and applications before that batch is packaged and shipped out to you - so we know it'll work, each time and every-time!
We extrude all our Maker Filament® PLA and ABS in house right here in beautiful Springfield, MO in our new 8,000sq/ft production facility on a high-speed large volume plastics extruder that we had custom built by one of the largest plastics extrusion companies in the world. (Click here to read the MakerGeeks story... We take the time to dry our raw virgin PLA or ABS pellets to 0% humidity before the extrusion process begins as well as keeping the pellets in a closed and sealed system throughout the extrusion process. This allows our Maker Filament® to be completely moisture free and thus give superior 3D printing results. 
During the extrusion process we use a real time laser diameter gauge that communicates back to the extruder screw to adjust in real time the diameter of the filament. So while other manufactures might check the overall roundness or diameter of the filament the machine will not adjust and fix the problem so it’s up to that particular manufacture to adjust the machine. Ours is 100% computer controlled in real time so what you end up with is a very high tolerance finished product; this is a USA 3D printer filament industry first and is exclusive to our machine here at Maker Geeks.
The next big concern after quality is affordability, by using the best equipment we are able to produce up to 250 metric tons (that's over 250,000 spools of filament) each year which allows us to get the best prices from our vendors for colorant, raws, spools and supplies. Also, being located in the middle of the USA allows for superior freight rates and fast shipping -  we can have your order to your door in 3-4 business days plus you won’t have to pay ocean freight shipping rates, import taxes or overland duty fees. 
We also take a minimalist approach to packaging, we vacuum seal each spool as it comes off the filament line along with a desiccant however we don’t waste money on expensive full color boxes which are just a frivolous and environmental waste in our opinion; since you throw away the box once you open the filament. All these things allow us to keep the focus where it should be: producing the best and highest quality 3D printing filament on the market today!

Happy Monday to you... hope you are doing great today; wanted to share something that was on my heart this morning about MakerGeeks and what’s going on and what the next steps are for us.
