Extruder Floss - Serious Hotend Unclogging Muscle

Ah, we have all be there... (and if you haven't yet; you will!!) our hotend is clogged and you get that "clicking" sound of your extruder drive wheel not pushing the filament though anymore. A lot of times this can be solved by using our 3D Printer Nozzle Tip Cleaning Tool (sold here: http://www.makergeeks.com/3dprnotipclt.html) but this tool only really reaches the "nozzle" portion of the hotend which is great for keeping your nozzle clean and clear between filament changes.

If you have a serious clog then you need some Extruder Floss - extruder floss is very thin carbon steel wire that is about 12" long that you can use to insert into the top of the hotend and press through the nozzle while the unit is at tempature and then littearly floss the hotend until you remove the blockage.

It's a simple yet effective tool to have and to keep right next to your 3D printer... it makes an afternoon of tinkering to try and fix a problem into a 5min job and you'll be back up and running.

Order both the 3D Printer Nozzle Tip Cleaning Tool and MakerGeeks Extruder Floss today; the Tip cleaner will keep your nozzle clean and clear in-between filament changes and the Extruder Floss will  help when those clogs threaten to clog up your work (or play) flow. Order today!

Robot Track System Lawn Mower Build Pt: 1

RoBO Lawn-Mower So, I work at our church on the grounds team and my job is to use a push mower on the VERY steep hills around the main building; I would say there is about 2 acres of this extreme hills that need to be mowed every week. Whew... it's pretty rough sometimes!! Of course my inner-geek always comes out while I'm mowing and I think of how I could make it easier... well, what about having a robot do this for me!!

But what sort of robot could manage these hills and do a GOOD JOB of cutting God's grass... hummm...

I have been doodleing and drawing for about 6 months on this and finally started building last week!!

Here we go...

I had a small push mower that I had just bought so I was going to use that for my platform and started researching what sort of motors are best for robots and battle robots; and found that wheelchair motors are awesome work horses.

I found some on eBay for the Jazzy Pride 1 wheelchair, perfect!! I also found …
